About Me

I am a warm, good-natured therapist working in the Denver area. I have many years experience working in the counseling field, including time in school counseling, in an inpatient hospital setting, and in private practice.

I have lived in North Dakota, Mississippi, and Colorado, and I attended the University of Southern Mississippi for my undergraduate studies and received a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver.

I practice from a humanistic and existential lens and my work as a therapist is influenced by people like Martin Buber, Irvin Yalom, and Carl Rogers. Essentially, my aim in therapy is to meet you as a fellow human and to help figure out how we can lessen the barriers that are keeping you from living the life you want to lead. Though the symptoms that accompany mental distress can be uncomfortable, my aim is to focus on the factors in your life that create that distress rather than being solely focused on a reduction in uncomfortable symptoms. Losing sight of the base causes of distress often -- in my experience at least -- causes people to end up right back where they started weeks or months after ending therapy.
